Man held in missing woman investigation
A man was arrested in Northern Ireland tonight for questioning about the murder of missing Co Down woman Lisa Dorrian.
The 25-year-old woman has not been seen since leaving a party at a caravan park in the village of Ballyhalbert, Co Down, over two weeks ago.
Police are treating her disappearance as murder and revealed the arrest after carrying out a fresh search a few miles up the coast at Ballywalter.
No details of the search operation have been revealed by detectives.
At the weekend police returned to the caravan park from which she disappeared and talked to caravan owners and local residents. All motorists travelling through the area were stopped and questioned.
When Lisa, from Bangor, vanished at the end of February she left her handbag and other personal belongings behind in the caravan where she had been partying.
A week after she disappeared detectives removed a mobile home from the caravan site for forensic examination and afterwards said they were treating her disappearance as a murder case.
A number of people have since been arrested and released without charge.
