Part of Hogan Stand to be removed for U2 gig
14/03/2005 - 07:16:52A section of Croke Park's Hogan Stand will have to be removed ahead of the U2 concerts in June, to make way for an additional exit.
Director General Liam Mulvihill confirmed the work would take place and said there was no need for alarm at the work, which will temporarily reduce the stadium's capacity.
The exit is required under safety legislation and the new stand has been built with a removable section to incorporate this.
Mr Mulvihill said: "When the stadium was being designed they left a 'soft spot' which can easily be
replaced. There's a fairly substantial cost but that has been factored in."
