14/03/2005 - 18:54:18
The drama documentary Omagh, the story of the 1998 Omagh Bombing, directed by Peter Travis has just been nominated for a prestigious BAFTA award.

Omagh has received the nomination in the Best Single Drama category.

The awards ceremony will take place in London on April 17.

Omagh's producer Ed Guiney said: "We are delighted that this film has been recognised by BAFTA in particular because it acknowledges and will heighten awareness of the struggle of the families in bringing the perpetrators of the bomb at Omagh to justice".

In addition, Omagh, co-financed by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, has scooped three Royal Television Society Award nominations. The ceremony takes place tomorrow night in London and OMAGH is up for Best Single Drama, Best Actor and Best Screenplay.
