Break-a-leg stage proverb comes true for Applegate
14/03/2005 - 12:21:31Christina Applegate has been forced out of the Boston tryout of the Broadway-bound revival of Sweet Charity, after breaking her foot during a performance in Chicago.
Applegate is expected to return to the musical by the time it starts preview performances in April in New York City, said John Barlow, a spokesman for the show. The musical is scheduled to open on April 21 at the Big Apple's Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
Applegate was injured during the opening moments of Friday's performance at Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre, but she continued to play for about 20 minutes before the show was stopped.
