Tourism Ireland looks to Patrick's Day showcase
14/03/2005 - 15:37:56Tourism Ireland plans to capitalise on the exposure from St Patrick’s Day by showcasing Ireland as a tourist destination.
Tourism Ireland is hosting media, trade and consumer events from Tokyo to Toronto to capitalise on the global interest.
Elsewhere Martin Place, in the heart of Sydney's commercial district, will be transformed into an Irish village, with dancers and street performers. 160,000 people pass through the area every day.
A range of travel operators will be there and in many other parts of the world promoting special holiday packages to Ireland.
Tourism Ireland will also be broadcasting the Dublin parade live to the world on the internet.
