IBEC: 'Costs for ICT firms up 20% in past three years'
14/03/2005 - 11:12:41The employers' body IBEC has claimed that information and communications technology (ICT) firms have experienced a 20% increase in operating costs over the past three years.
The organisation said a survey it carried out found that the largest increases since 2002 had been in the area of energy costs.
Spokesperson Kathryn Raleigh said this was damaging competitiveness in the ICT sector, which employs 92,000 people in Ireland, and was discouraging foreign investment.
