Henry denies money moan
11/03/2005 - 14:02:41Thierry Henry today denied blaming the cost of Arsenal’s new stadium on their Champions League failure.
Responding to media reports in the wake of the Gunners’ exit at the hands of Bayern Munich, Henry said: “I never said that we need to spend big and I never said that I blame anyone for the exit in the Champions League.
“I said that we were not good enough over the two legs and Bayern Munich deserved their win.
“I was only asked one question and that was ‘Over the last three years with the money that Arsenal have spent, is it fair to say we have over-achieved?’
“I only answered and said if you take it that way you can say yes, we have over-achieved because we did not spend as much as Tottenham and Birmingham.”
