Inmates protest on the roof of Limerick prison
11/03/2005 - 19:27:07Five prisoners have escaped from their cells and have begun a protest on the roof of Limerick prison.
The protest began at around 6.30 pm and both armed and uniformed gardaí have been deployed along with a Garda helicopter.
It is not known at this stage what the protest is about.
The prisoners are described as serious criminals but are not part of the Provisional movement.
