Hunt for missing woman becomes murder inquiry
Police in the North today confirmed that their investigation into the disappearance of a 25-year-old woman had become a murder inquiry.
Two men were arrested as detectives continued to trace the whereabouts of Lisa Dorian, who has been missing for more than a week since leaving a party in a caravan in Ballyhalbert, Co Down, last month.
The senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Pat Steele, said that the investigation had been turned into a murder probe following a number of inquiries that had been carried out by officers in recent days.
Air and land searches have taken place along the Ards Peninsula and police underwater search teams have also been deployed during the search for Miss Dorian.
She left her handbag and personal belongings behind her at the party before her disappearance.
Family and friends have helped police search the area and had been baffled by her disappearance.
