10/03/2005 - 13:05:46
Thousands of French rugby supporters are expected to converge on Dublin this weekend for a crucial 6 Nations clash thanks to 37 extra charter flights, it emerged today.

Over 6,000 fans of the game are expected to pass through Dublin Airport en route to Lansdowne Road for the vital match against the Irish side.

The Dublin Airport Authority has confirmed that 37 extra charter flights are due in tomorrow and Saturday for the match.

A spokeswoman for the authority warned: “Passengers are advised to give themselves plenty of time to reach the airport to comply with check-in and security regulations.”

The French side’s hope of a second successive Grand Slam victory was destroyed by Wales in Paris two weeks ago.

However, the Irish side led by captain Brian O’Driscoll remains on course for an elusive Grand Slam victory – with wins over Italy, Scotland and England.
