Ahern: Taxes may pay for illegal charges
10/03/2005 - 16:37:01Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has not ruled out tax rises to help pay for the refund of illegal nursing home charges.
Bertie Ahern has said the Government will have to examine all possibilities of raising the money to pay back what was taken from elderly medical card holders over a 28-year-period.
Bertie Ahern has said future tax promises may not now be delivered.
