Miners trapped after SA earthquake
09/03/2005 - 16:35:4042 miners have been left trapped underground by an earthquake which struck in South Africa earlier today.
A rescue team is trying to drill its way through to the stricken men.
The earthquake measuring five on the Richter scale, shook parts of South Africa today and caused injuries and damage south west of Johannesburg.
The miners are trapped almost 8,000ft underground, according to the mine's operators DRDGold.
