Palmer takes Mansfield job
09/03/2005 - 13:33:01Carlton Palmer has been formally confirmed as the Mansfield boss on a full-time basis and has revealed he has been working for free since joining the League Two club.
Palmer - who played briefly with Dublin City in the eircom League last season - was initially appointed in a caretaker capacity at Field Mill in late November following predecessor Keith Curle’s suspension and eventual sacking.
But now the former England international midfielder and Stockport boss has been appointed full-time after Curle’s demand for re-instatement was turned down by an independent appeals body.
