Knock Airport chiefs seek €15m Govt investment
Executives at Knock Airport today urged the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport to support calls for a €15m Government investment at the airport.
Knock International Airport chief executive Liam Scollan and Director of Finance and Operations, Robert Grealis today appeared before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport.
Mr Scollan warned the airport was facing a tough challenge to meet its capital investment requirements if it is to achieve its expansion potential.
Mr Scollan urged the Joint Committee to support the airport’s call for a €15m Government cash injection to complete a capital investment programme at the airport.
Knock Airport recently celebrated its three millionth passenger and passenger numbers for 2005 are expected to exceed 500,000.
The airport currently offers eight daily scheduled flights to Dublin and UK and will also offer flights to over 20 additional destinations worldwide in 2005.
