Ryan Giggs struck a post as Manchester United valiantly attempted to preserve their Champions League dream against AC Milan.
Trailing by a single goal from the first leg, United spent long periods chasing Milan around as the Italians dominated possession.
But Giggs came so close to levelling the tie just before the half-hour when he latched onto Ruud van Nistelrooy’s pass and thudded an angled drive against a post with Dida beaten.
