Red Hand see red at Gormley red card

08/03/2005 - 07:21:44
Tyrone wing-back Conor Gormley will miss Tyrone's four remaining games in Division 1A of the National Football League after receiving a straight red card in Sunday's facile win over Offaly.

Gormley was sent to the line for a clash late in the game and referee Pat McEnaney was booed off the Healy Park pitch by home fans afterwards.

Red Hand boss Mickey Harte said: "It's very sore on Conor Gormley. Whatever happened I don't know but the referee and the umpire made the decision between them. He is very unfortunate because he’s not that kind of player and the timing of it is very harsh.

"Sometimes you could get a red card and miss one game but he's going to miss four games in-a-row."
