Five quizzed over drugs haul
Five people are still being quizzed in connection with two weekend seziures of drugs in Dublin and Wicklow.
A total of over €1m worth of drugs has been seized in separate Garda swoops in Westmeath, Monaghan and Wicklow since Friday.
In Dublin three men and a woman are being detained at Kevin Street and Kilmainham garda stations.
It follows the seizure of €500,000 worth of cocaine, firearms, ammunition and drug-making equipment in the Drimnagh area of the city on Friday night.
They can be held for up to three days under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
In Co Wicklow, a man in his 30s is still being questioned at Bray Garda Station in connection with the seizure of heroin, estimated to be worth €100,000 in Greystones yesterday.
He is being detained under Section Two of the Drug Trafficking Act.
Last Friday, gardaí in Athlone also recovered six kilos of base amphetamine worth €270,000 from an open area in the town.
