Stone can't accept her British fame
06/03/2005 - 14:14:29Teen star Joss Stone is so focused on pleasing her American fans, she often forgets how famous she is in her native Britain.
The Fell in Love with a Boy beauty, 17, has secured a huge following stateside since a series of lengthy promotional tours and high-profile live performances in the US.
And it always shocks Stone when autograph-hunting members of the public and star-struck fans swarm around her when she returns home - because she's rarely working in the UK.
She says: "I spend so much time in America and I definitely feel quite famous over there. It's weird, but I always assume no one knows who I am in the UK.
"I feel I can come back and just be absolutely normal and anonymous."
