Eastwood slams media for Scorsese 'battle'
06/03/2005 - 12:39:10Oscar-winning film-maker Clint Eastwood has played down his hyped 'battle' with Martin Scorsese in the weeks approaching the Academy Awards.
Eastwood, 74, has repeatedly triumphed over The Aviator director Scorsese in movie awards this year, and both were nominated for Best Director at the star-studded ceremony in Hollywood last Sunday night.
Backstage following his Best Director win for Million Dollar Baby, Eastwood said: "I was disappointed when the media started billing this competition between Marty and me.
"I have the greatest respect for him and for the films he's done over the years, up to The Aviator."
