Rowe joins Saints in loan deal
05/03/2005 - 12:32:27St Patrick’s Athletic have snapped up Ger Rowe on a season-long loan deal from Shelbourne.
Former Republic of Ireland youth international Rowe has slipped down the pecking order at Tolka Park following the close-season acquisitions of Glen Crowe and Gary O’Neill, and has been linked with a move to St Pats since the end of last season.
He will team up with former Shelbourne assistant manager John McDonnell at Richmond Park.
McDonnell is a long-time admirer of the striker and he said: “He’s a good player and he’ll give us options. We’ve now got a lot of good young players at the club and I think the future is bright.”
