Javine pips Jordan to UK's Eurovision spot

05/03/2005 - 20:46:23
Former Popstars: The Rivals contestant Javine tonight became the UK’s Eurovision entry.

The singer beat off competition to claim the right to represent the UK at this year’s Eurovision song contest.

Wearing a revealing russet-coloured cut-away dress the 24-year-old sang her way to victory with Touch My Fire.

Javine, who narrowly missed out on a place in Girl’s Aloud, was singing alongside operatic trio Tricolore, Pop Idol contestant Andy Scott-Lee, Gina G and Jordan for a place in the gltzy European affair.

Jordan, who was singing under her real name Katie Price, came a close second.

Wearing a pink skin-tight catsuit the visibly pregnant former glamour model failed to win the public vote on BBC1’s Making Your Mind Up for her song Not Just Anybody.

Javine will now go on to represent the UK in Ukraine on May 21.
