Keys denies letting down fans
03/03/2005 - 10:26:06R&B star Alicia Keys has slammed reports she disappointed fans by failing to perform at a gig on Friday - insisting she never confirmed she would take to the stage.
Micheal Ault, the owner of Los Angeles' Gryphon Club, complains he had to refund disappointed ticket holders because a friend of the Grammy-winning singer promised fans Keys would perform if he received a cut of the ticket sales.
But when Keys arrived, she sat in the VIP area and didn't sing a note, reports website PageSix.com.
A spokesperson for the star says: "Alicia's management knows nothing about this matter. She was never confirmed to perform at the Gryphon."
