Govt abandons plan to provide state aid to Intel
02/03/2005 - 13:10:39The Government has abandoned plans to grant state aid to the US multinational Intel to help it expand its factory in Leixlip, Co Kildare.
The European Commission was expected to inform the Government that the plan to help fund the expansion contravened regulations governing state aid.
However, Enterprise Minister Micheal Martin pre-empted that ruling today by withdrawing the Government notification of the aid plan to the EC.
