Wexford three close to comebacks

01/03/2005 - 07:20:32
Wexford hurling has received a boost with the news that injured trio Rory McCarthy, Rory Jacob and Malachy Travers are close to resuming training.

Rory McCarthy picked up a groin injury during the Walsh Cup, while Jacob and Travers were long-term injuries.

Full-back Darragh Ryan is also on the mend. The former AllStar, who suffers from a recurring knee problem, underwent surgery last week at Waterford Regional Hospital and the procedure was deemed to be a success.

He is due to return to training next month and should be fit for the Model County's opening Leinster championship match.
