Reynolds contemplated quitting
01/03/2005 - 11:46:26Waterford United player-manager Alan Reynolds admitted he considered giving up the management job at the end of last season to concentrate fully on his playing career.
However, after much soul-searching Reynolds, 30, opted to continue combining the roles, much to the disappointment of Cork City and Shamrock Rovers who were both hoping to entice him away from Waterford.
The combative midfielder said: “For a while I was thinking about concentrating solely on my playing career.
“I know this season is going to be tougher for us but it is a challenge for me to respond to that and I have never ducked a challenge in my life.”
