Southampton boss Harry Redknapp included striker Kevin Phillips in his starting line-up for tonight’s FA cup fifth round replay against Brentford.

Phillips started the match alongside Peter Crouch after completing his rehabilitation from an ankle injury with Henri Camara dropping to the bench.

Saints’ midfield problems resulted in starts for Matthew Oakley and Mikael Nilsson but Anders Svensson was left on the bench.

Brentford replaced cup-tied goalkeeper Ademole Bankole with Stuart Nelson, while Andy Frampton was drafted into the line-up at the expense of Kevin O’Connor following Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Brentford: Nelson, Dobson, Sodje, Turner, Salako, Tabb, Hutchinson, Talbot, Frampton, Rankin, Burton.
Subs: Lennie, Hunt, Harrold, O’Connor, Peters.

Southampton: Smith, Telfer, Jakobsson, Davenport, Higginbotham, Nilsson, Oakley, Delap, Bernard, Phillips, Crouch.
Subs: Poke, McCann, Anders Svensson, Ormerod, Camara.
