Two added to Indoor Championships team

Athletics Ireland have added a further two athletes to the team for the forthcoming European Indoor Championships in Madrid on March 4-6.

The team now numbers 16, the largest Irish team ever for the Championships.

James Nolan (1500m) and Peter Coghlan (60m H) were both added after showing some outstanding form in the past week.

Nolan, a silver medallist from the event in 2000, ran a seasons best of 3.41.91 in Madrid on Thursday while Coghlan won a 55m hurdles event in Clemson University in the US on Saturday night.

The event was given a boost when RTE announced that they will be showing extended highlights over the three nights of the Championship.
