Man hospitalised after Belfast robbery

A man has been hospitalised after a violent robbery in north Belfast in the early hours this morning.

He was hit around the head and suffered minor injuries when he struggled with two masked men who entered a football social club where he was working.

The attack took place on St Vincent's Street, in the Skeganeel area of the city, at 1am.

One of the raiders is said to have been armed with a sawn off shotgun, while the other is said to have had a hammer.

They made off with undisclosed sum of cash.
