Cork boss Lennox hits back at complaining players
Cork City chairman Brian Lennox has hit back at City players who complained about the standard of training facilities.
A number of Cork players made their grievances public on what they believe to be sub-standard facilities, including being forced to train on a GAA pitch and use cold showers.
However, Lennox hit back claiming that Cork’s squad had the best facilities in the city available to them at eight different locations and angrily insisted he wanted to hear no more excuses before the season even begins.
Lennox said: “We’ve got the best facilities in the area for this season and we’re looking at building our own training ground as we bring the club forward.
“I am disappointed that the players went to the press first rather than making their complaints to the me. I want the team to get out there and win something and lets work from the same song-sheet. That's the last I want to hear of excuses before a ball has even been kicked.”
