Man and woman arrested after Tallaght shooting

Two people have been arrested in connection with an incident in which a 27-year-old man was shot in the leg in Tallaght, in south county Dublin, early this morning.

The incident happened at Ely Drive, in Allentown.

Gardaí said that a 26-year-old man was arrested a short time later when his car was stopped in the same area.

A semi-automatic handgun and ammunition were recovered from the car.

In a separate development, a 24-year-old woman was also arrested.

Both are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The injured man is being treated at Tallaght Hospital.
