Jlo misses premiere and cancels European tour
Diva Jennifer Lopez has cancelled her European album tour – sparking rumours that she is pregnant.
The star also called off a red carpet appearance in London tonight at the charity premiere of her new movie, Shall We Dance ?
The 35-year-old, who married third husband singer Marc Anthony in June last year, was scheduled to fly in to promote the film with co-star Richard Gere.
But she called off the trip at the last minute, saying she was “not well”.
The pop star and actress, who recently turned her hand to fashion, said: “I very much wanted to be in London today but unfortunately I’m not well. At the advice of my doctors I’m unable to travel.
“Being sick has also caused me to cancel my European album tour. Please accept my sincerest apologies as I have to remain in Los Angeles.”
Lopez plays dance instructor Paulina who teaches bored and overworked lawyer John Clark (Gere) ballroom dancing in Shall We Dance?, a remake of a Japanese movie.
The movie, which opens on Friday, was rubbished in the US but had better reviews in the UK.
Lopez’s statement, issued through the film’s distributors Buena Vista International, said: “I’m so proud of Shall We Dance and was looking forward to visiting London.
“This film was a labour of love for me and I want to thank everyone involved in bringing it to you, from the cast, to the film director, to the crew.
“My experience in making Shall We Dance has been nothing short of wonderful. Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets to the charity premiere. Once again, I’m sorry I’m unable to be with you in London in person.”
Tonight’s premiere was held to raise money for the Tsunami disaster.
