ComReg issue warning to eircom
16/02/2005 - 07:53:56The communications regulator, ComReg, has again warned eircom over the issue of Local Loop Unbundling (LLU), the process which allows eircom's rivals to access the telephone line between the local telephone exchange and the customer.
Eircom has been threatened with legal action and possible financial penalties by ComReg.
Rival telecoms firms have made requests for developments to LLU products and processes which would allow them to offer high-speed internet services.
ComReg has ordered eircom to respond by 11am on Friday.
A spokesman for Eircom said last night that the company had appealed the direction from ComReg.
