One dead as explosion rocks Lebanon
14/02/2005 - 11:19:58A loud explosion rocked Beirut today, killing one person and injuring 12 others.
A plume of black smoke rose over Lebanese capital’s waterfront. The explosion, near a luxury hotel, shook buildings in the city centre and was heard as far away as the eastern hills.
Ambulances raced to the scene, their sirens wailing.
The cause of the explosion was not immediately known.
