New deal for Barratt
Natalie Barratt will return to the world rally stage after signing a last-minute deal to compete in the production championship.
Barratt, from Alderley Edge in Cheshire, has graduated from the junior series to compete in the production class with the OMV team.
The 29-year-old will miss the first round of the production championship, in Sweden this weekend, and make her debut instead in New Zealand in April, where she will be the only woman competing in world rallying.
She said: “Last year I had a lot of technical problems, so I’m really looking forward to driving in the production championship.
“Some of the rallies we have chosen are hard, tough rallies, but these are the ones I like the best. I am very happy to be part of the OMV world rally team. It’s a fantastic opportunity and I’m naturally really pleased to have their support on such an exciting project.”
