Gatland to step down at Wasps
09/02/2005 - 16:07:54Former Irish coach Warren Gatland is to leave Wasps at the end of the season.
The New Zealander guided the London side to victory in the Heineken Cup and the Zurich Premiership last season, but has asked to be released from the final year of his contract.
The club has said they are likely to grant the request following a board meeting on the 22nd February.
Gatland hinted that he intended to step down and return to New Zealand in June and has now confirmed this.
Wasps currently lie third on the Premiership table but suffered an early exit from the Heineken Cup after failing to overcome the group stages.
