Non-EU trade down

Ireland’s trade with non-EU countries fell marginally in 2004 when compared to 2003, according to figures from the Central Statistics Office today.

Overall exports fell by 0.2% and imports by 0.5%.

Exports to the USA decreased from €16.9bn to €16.5bn (-3%) and Canada from €469m to €326m (-30%).

Japan increased from €2.1bn to €2.3bn (+11%) and Switzerland from €2.6bn to €2.8bn (+6%).
