ISEQ edges higher
09/02/2005 - 18:07:36The ISEQ edged slightly higher in trading today, creeping up 0.96 to 4,763.77.
Financial stocks were buoyant today. Allied Irish Bank shares climbed 20c to €15.67 while Bank of Ireland rose 18c to €12.51.
Anglo Irish Bank shares jumped 35c higher to €19.30. Irish Life & Permanent shares closed 20c higher to €14.10.
Elsewhere Elan shares fell 40c to €21.15 after the Athlone-based pharmaceutical company announced it had agreed to pay $15m (€22m) to settle charges made by the US Securities and Exchange Commission that it misled investors.
Other movers today included business support services group DCC, which climbed considerably to close up 50c to €18.50 and budget airline Ryanair, which saw shares fall back 16c to €6.50.
