Regulator to conduct review of taxi services
08/02/2005 - 12:59:56The Commission for Taxi Regulation has announced plans to conduct a review of taxi, hackney and limousine services in Ireland.
The review is part of the regulator's move to devise a new code of regulation and a strategic plan for the industry.
Interested parties have been invited to provide written submissions to the commission, while views can also be expressed at a series of public meetings due to take place throughout the country.
The regulator, Gerard Deering, said he wanted to hear the public's opinions about the quality of existing services, accessibility for the disabled, fare structures, safety and other issues relating to the taxi sector.
