Govt accused of misleading EU over illegal dumping
08/02/2005 - 13:24:11Labour Party MEP Pronsias De Rossa has accused the Government of misleading the EU over the level of illegal dumping in Ireland.
Mr De Rossa claimed the Department of the Environment had failed to tell the EU about illegal dumps uncovered in Wicklow, Carlow and Cork.
He said the Government was failing to uphold its own laws and the matter would ultimately cost the Irish taxpayer dearly.
