Kelly Osbourne blames fame for addiction
08/02/2005 - 08:31:37Rocker Kelly Osbourne has blamed her fame and fortune for causing her addiction to painkillers.
The 20-year-old Changes star was so disturbed by the media scrutiny on her life, she sought solace by taking opiates and became so ill, she was regularly vomiting blood.
She complains: "Being rich and famous is my biggest problem. Growing up in the public sucks. It's hard enough being judged by your family, never mind the whole world.
"So I tried to escape. But I didn't like cocaine or speed so opiates became my drug of choice.
"And the last four months before I went into rehab I was throwing up blood and trying to hide it because I didn't want my mum to know. I'd wake up covered in blood."
