Forest fail in Pollitt bid

02/02/2005 - 14:08:04
Nottingham Forest manager Gary Megson has revealed his bid for Rotherham goalkeeper Mike Pollitt has been rejected by the Millers.

Forest, currently lying second bottom in the Coca-Cola Championship table, travel to meet basement side Rotherham on Saturday and ahead of the game Megson tabled an undisclosed fee for the experienced ‘keeper.

However, that bid has been knocked back by the South Yorkshire club and Megson has decided against pursuing his interest.

He said: “Our bid’s been rejected so we’ll move on to look elsewhere.”

A loan deal that would have taken Reds striker David Johnson to League One high-flyers Hull City has fallen through.
