Spurs bid £8m for Reid and Dawson
31/01/2005 - 17:49:37Tottenham have bid £8m (€11.5m) for Nottingham Forest duo Andy Reid and Michael Dawson.
The White Hart Lane club tabled an undisclosed bid for central defender Dawson on Saturday but had seen previous bids of £3m, £4m and £5m for Reid rejected by the Championship club.
Instead, Forest chose to accept a Southampton bid of £3m-plus and two players – Brett Ormerod and Darren Kenton – for the Republic of Ireland international midfielder.
Forest chief executive Mark Arthur said: “I can confirm we’ve received an £8m bid from Tottenham for the two players. The board are considering the offer.”
Ironically, Forest could meet Spurs in the fifth round of the FA Cup if the Londoners beat West Brom in a replay.
