Politicians set up new group to promote Traveller issues

A cross-party group of 19 TDs and Senators has come together to promote Traveller issues in the Oireachtas.

Speaking at the launch of the group today, Independent TD Finian McGrath said one of its main priorities was finding a solution to accommodation issues currently facing Travellers.

Mr McGrath, the chairman of the group, said he also hoped it would encourage Travellers to become more involved in politics.
