Govt accused of leaving Dublin Bus short of vehicles
31/01/2005 - 08:10:22Dublin Bus has reportedly accused the Government of leaving it drastically short of resources and of failing to invest properly in the capital’s bus service under the National Development Plan.
Reports this morning said the company had given private briefings to opposition politicians revealing that it was short of 100 buses and would need more than 200 new double-deckers from next year.
The reports said the situation was similar to that in Aer Lingus, where the company’s management has been complaining about the Government’s inaction on crucial decisions.
The Labour Party has reportedly accused the Government of preventing Dublin Bus from purchasing new vehicles for political reasons.
