Testing times ahead for Hogg

28/01/2005 - 18:57:16
Scotland international Allister Hogg is facing an anxious wait on his fitness ahead of the RBS 6 Nations opener against France on February 5.

The Edinburgh Gunners number eight has recovered sufficiently from a knee injury to be included in a 35-man training squad before the trip to Paris.

But Scotland coach Matt Williams concedes that, while Hogg’s progress has been excellent, his inclusion for the game against Les Bleus is still not decided.

Williams said: “We originally thought Ally would be ruled out of at least the first couple of matches of the tournament but he has been working intensively with the physios and we’ve been delighted with his progress.”

Borders hooker Ross Ford has been released from the squad for Scotland Under-21 duties.

Scotland training squad ahead of the RBS 6 Nations game against France on February 5 is:
