Quashie cup-tied for Pompey clash
New signing Nigel Quashie will miss Southampton’s clash against his former side Portsmouth when the two sides meet for a place in the FA Cup fifth round at St Mary’s tomorrow.
Quashie is cup-tied after completing a £2.1m (€3m) move from Pompey last week while he is also struggling to recover from knee injury.
Saints manager Harry Redknapp, facing Pompey for the first time since leaving Fratton Park two months ago, is expected to name the same side which beat Liverpool 2-0 last weekend.
Captain Kevin Phillips is unlikely to be risked because of an ankle injury while defender Graeme Le Saux is still recovering from a calf strain.
