Human rights conference begins in Limerick

High profile human rights campaigners are gathering in Limerick today for a special conference.

Gay rights, citizenship issues, and fathers rights will be among the issues thrashed out at the third annual human rights forum, which begins today and lasts until Sunday.

Bernadatte Sexton of the Irish Peace Society says that a more permanent foundation is needed so these issues can be acted upon. She said attempts were underway to set up a human rights network to provide solid support on the ground.
