FG targets Cullen on travel expenses
28/01/2005 - 09:09:17Controversy surrounding the Minister for Transport Martin Cullen shows no sign of abating.
A Fine Gael TD said that he has learned, in a reply to a Dáil question, that Minister Cullen took 25 officials, including PR consultant Monica Leech, to a 10-day conference in Malaysia last year.
Westmeath TD Paul McGrath said the number who travelled and the duration of the conference were not in line with those of other conferences.
He said the size of the Malaysia conference group was outrageous and claimed that "even Mick McCarthy didn’t take that many to Saipan".
