Migrant workers 'being denied rights on building sites'
28/01/2005 - 14:08:34The rights of migrant workers are being abused on building sites, according to the trade union BATU.
Polish and Lithuanian workers are being paid well below the minimum wage of €7 an hour and are being made work in excess of 39 hours a week, the union claims.
Spokesman for the union Brendan O'Sullivan said the language barrier is preventing many workers from speaking up.
