38-year-old motorcyclist dies in Athlone road accident

A 38-year-old man has died in hospital from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash in Co Westmeath.

The man suffered serious injuries when he lost control of his motorbike and crashed in the Kilmacaugh area of Athlone late last night.

He died in hospital in Ballinasloe this morning. Gardaí are withholding his name until all next of kin are informed.

The dead man’s female pillion passenger was also injured in the accident.
